walk the plank

I figured I’d start with the after, cause no one likes to REALLY see those “before” pics at the top, do they?

Ok, ok….  here is the before:

This is the family room the way it looked before. The previous owners used it as a study, a library, a TV room, and a litter box (I’m not kidding).

See that little cut-out next to the wastebasket? That is a kitty door.

I had BIG plans for this space! I had long coveted those horizontal plank wood walls
everyone has been doing, so I did my research and thanks to Shelley at House of Smiths
and Sausha at Sweet Pickins, I knew what to do. I enlisted the help of my BFF, and armed
with some borrowed tools and a long weekend, we got-her-done!

Here are the progress pics:

Next I painted the entire room white!

(I just LOVE an all white room)

And added blue – just to the ceiling.

Don’t you love it?
